DIY Decorated Christmas Trees

Want to add some decoration to your room this Christmas? Have a go at decorating a plant pot for a small Christmas tree! It’s such a quick and easy DIY!

Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

  • A small pot (my tree already came in the pot because I bought artifical ones)
  • PVA glue
  • Rope/twine
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors

Let’s get started!I’ll be using an artifical tree for this project but I think these would look really nice as real trees on your window ledge!

To start, lay your pot on its side and pour some glue along the edge. Take one end of the rope and start wrapping it around the pot, going down in a spiral. I just used one colour of rope but maybe next time I’ll use alternating colours!

Keep wrapping the rope until you get to the bottom of the pot and cut the remainder off.

I left this to dry for a while before continuing in case I accidently moved the rope! When all of the glue is dry we can finish off by wrapping ribbon around the top of the pot and securing it around the back.

And we’re finished! You don’t have to stop there though, you can add a bow to the front which I might do (in a different colour) or add gems/sequins to the sides. I’ll be putting tissue paper and small crystals around the base of the tree!
