What we’ll need:

  • Circle wall sticker sheets x 2 (you can also make these shapes out of sparkly card)
  • Glittery string
  • Scissors
  • A hook to hang it from

Let’s get started!

Our first step is to measure how big our wall stickers are. The biggest one out of the pack I got was 30cm so I doubled this measurement (60cm), then added an extra 20cm on to that to allow for hanging space.

Cut this measurement out of your glittery string and then fold the whole length of it exactly in half.

Tie a knot in the very end so you now have one end with a knot and the other with a loop.

Now we can start attaching our stickers. Fold your string in half again to find the exact middle and place your smallest circle sticker on the string. Turn this over and stick the matching sticker to the back of the first one, covering and trapping the string in between.

Moving on to the second ring. Before placing this one down, lay the string completely flat and then twist the string either side of the circle one rotation. You want the twist to be in the same direction so that the decoration spins when it is hanging from the ceiling.

Repeat this same step when attaching all of the other rings. It does get a little fiddly the larger the rings are because they have to be matched up precisely and the string has to stay in place! However, it is definitely worth it!

When all of the rings are in place, the knot should be at the bottom of the last ring, if it isn’t just tie a new knot and cut off the excess. I also tied a knot at the top just to keep that first twist in place and then the loop is secure as well.

Now all that’s left is to hang up the decoration, make sure you use a secure ceiling hook and you’re done!
