Getting ready to go back to school or venturing off to University? This great little DIY will get you back on track and also spruce up your room with a pop of colour!
What you’ll need:

- 1 cork mat
- Fabric of your choice
- Compass
- Paper
- Pencil
- Scissors
- PVA glue
Let’s get started!
To make the stencil, measure the diameter of your cork board and then minus 1cm from it. My measurement was 17cm. However, to draw your circle you’ll need the radius which will be half of your diameter and mine was 8.5cm. Set up your pencil and compass with a distance of 8.5cm and draw a circle onto your paper.

Cut out your stencil, lay it on top of your fabric and pin in place.

Cut out your circle from the fabric, make sure you haven’t got any creases in your fabric otherwise this could make the fabric not lie flat.

Using some PVA glue and a brush or a sponge, stick the fabric circle on top on the cork mat. Make sure you place it in the middle and then smooth down the edges. I also painted glue along the very edge of the fabric once it was stuck to the mat. This will stop the fabric from fraying.
Leave the mouse mat to dry for about an hour before you use it. This is such a quick DIY even if you’re strapped for time and will definitely jazz up your work space!
